UNFORGETTABLE INCIDENT IN MY LIFE

Myself, father and mother visited Delhi in 2004. On the same day we had to go to Manali. We hired a car and started our journey at 9:15 pm. Actually it is nearly 12 hrs journey from Delhi to reach Manali. We could not have dinner on the journey because there were not even a single recommended hotel . At around 1:15 am , our car stopped by the roadside. It was extremely dark outside. there were many trees and bushes, but no street lights. We were very afraid. Our driver Vinod was trying very hard but the car could not start. Then he got down of the car and was searching for a garage to repair it. But the road where there are no street lights how can you get a garage? I had no sleep that night and was wondering sitting inside the car when the car will start and when we get out of this situation. But there was no use. Mom and dad were very upset. They didn't know how to handle such situation. then we were looking at the side-windows , i was shocked to see an old lady approaching towards our car. The driver was waiting outside the car and he was stunt. He was confused how to deal the situation. dad quickly asked him to somehow start the car. Then he tried hard but the lady was coming closer and closer. She was waving her hands and i thought she needed a lift. but how can we give lift to a  person who was unknown to us? That was a lonely road and there were not even a single transportation service available in the road. But after trying very hard the car somehow started and the driver successfully drove the car leaving the old lady behind. Then after travelling for 2 more hours we were searching for a hotel to dine. we had not eaten food from last night. Then at 3:30 am we caught a dhaba. there we had good food and left the dhaba. That night i slept for just 30 minutes , dad could not sleep because dad was sitting in the front seat besides driver. The driver needed somebody to spend time with him so that he can drive the car safely otherwise he may fall asleep.We reached manali at 2:30 pm in the afternoon. It was nearly 17 hrs 30 min journey. It is a very unforgettable memory in my life and will always remain in my mind.
